The most expensive assumption in heavy equipment is thinking you already know what it's worth.
BAZZLE delivers certified, USPAP-compliant equipment appraisals for mining, energy, industrial, manufacturing, and heavy construction operations — the defensible number your lender, your insurer, and the courts accept. When it gets challenged, it holds.
It's not negligence — it's a structural gap. Point-in-time appraisals expire the day they're delivered. Most operators and lenders don't discover the problem until a transaction, loss event, or dispute forces the question.
Three stages. One standard.
Every stage of defensible documentation. BAZZLE delivers a field-verified equipment appraisal, maintains Continuous Asset Monitoring between cycles, and delivers the ProofMark when you need a defensible number. Each stage builds on the last. All three carry the MCMEA credential.
Equipment Appraisal
The defensible numberA field-verified baseline on every piece of equipment in your operation. The entry equipment appraisal engagement — field-verified baseline data that has never been formally established, or hasn't been touched in years. The number everything else is built on.
Continuous Asset Monitoring
Asset management platformThe ongoing test of what the equipment is actually worth. Continuous platform documentation between appraisal cycles. Hour meters, condition flags, and value inflection points tracked in real time. The Equipment Appraisal was the foundation — Continuous Asset Monitoring keeps it current.
ProofMark
Certified documentationThe mark earned when it holds under pressure — certified and defensible. USPAP-compliant, MCMEA-credentialed certified output. Accepted by lenders, insurance, IRS, Buy/Sell, and courts. The ProofMark is what you present when the number has to hold.
Four situations where a stale schedule becomes a real problem.
"The lender's appraiser sets the number. Yours doesn't exist."
Stale schedules mean the lender's appraiser governs the collateral conversation. You find out the gap exists on the call — not before it.
"The insurance gap lands on you after the loss."
Replacement cost coverage built on outdated schedules leaves a gap the carrier won't close. The shortfall belongs to the insured.
"The collateral securing the loan can't be verified."
Equipment-secured loans with two-year-old appraisals are a workout risk waiting to happen. By the time it surfaces, you're already behind.
"The examiner asks for current appraisals. You don't have them."
Portfolio reviews flag equipment-secured loans with stale documentation. Current, credentialed appraisals resolve the question before it becomes a finding.
The same credential. Different conversations.
Whether you're protecting collateral, verifying it, placing coverage against it, or defending it in court — the methodology is the same. The conversation starts where your situation does.

Not a software company that hired appraisers. Not a generalist who happens to know heavy equipment. The Master Certified Machinery & Equipment Appraiser credential is the standard lenders require, courts accept, and carriers rely on when valuations get contested — the difference between a number that survives scrutiny and one that gets thrown out. There are 26 of us in the country who hold it.
And it isn’t a one-person practice. Amanda Bazzle — Founder & Owner and Certified Machinery & Equipment Appraiser (CMEA) — has worked more than 50 engagements alongside Nathan and signs certified appraisals in her own right. Two credentialed appraisers, one standard, one methodology: a practice built so the work holds up long after any single signature — and a bench deep enough that a contested valuation never rests on a single set of eyes.

The questions lenders, attorneys, CFOs, and operators ask us most — about credentials, court, loan requirements, coverage, and how an engagement runs.
-
Do you appraise equipment nationwide?
Yes. BAZZLE is a national practice — 900+ engagements across mining, energy, industrial manufacturing, and heavy construction operations throughout the United States, handled onsite or by desktop and virtual data collection. The credential travels and the standard doesn't change, whether the equipment sits at one shop in Indiana or across a dozen sites in five states.
-
Are your appraisals USPAP-compliant, and who signs them?
Every report is USPAP-compliant, and every Fair Market, Orderly Liquidation, and Forced Liquidation value is the professional opinion of a credentialed BAZZLE appraiser — Nathan Bazzle, MCMEA, or Amanda Bazzle, CMEA — developed under USPAP and signed by hand. We use modern tools to accelerate the research behind an engagement; the opinion is never automated, because when the number is challenged a credentialed person has to stand behind it in front of a lender, a carrier, or a court.
-
Does an SBA or USDA loan require an independent equipment appraisal?
Generally yes. SBA 7(a) and 504 loans and USDA Business & Industry loans require an independent, USPAP-compliant appraisal when machinery and equipment above the program threshold secures the loan — the lender can't rely on the invoice, the seller's price, or the borrower's schedule. The appraiser also has to be independent and qualified; a dealer or seller with a financial interest in the transaction won't satisfy the agency. An MCMEA-credentialed report clears underwriting cleanly.
-
Will the appraisal hold up if the value is challenged or goes to court?
That is the whole point of a credentialed appraisal. Nathan's record is Daubert-tested and has held in every court appearance on record. An admissible opinion is a qualified expert applying a documented, USPAP-compliant methodology to sufficient data — defined scope, stated value type and effective date, traceable market data, explicit assumptions, and the appraiser's signature. When opposing counsel puts up a weaker number — a desktop estimate or an unqualified appraiser — we can also provide a rebuttal report and testimony.
-
How does an engagement work, and how long does it take?
We scope each engagement individually — you tell us the assets, locations, value type(s), purpose, and timeline, which usually takes under an hour to quote. Data is collected onsite, by desktop using our free form, or by virtual walkthrough; all three produce the same USPAP-compliant report. Most small-to-medium engagements are delivered within 5–7 business days after data collection is complete; large or multi-site jobs get a specific timeline upfront.
